About the Ottawa
Hospital Auxiliary
The Ottawa Hospital Auxiliary is a volunteer-led, non-profit organization that supports patient care at The Ottawa Hospital through fundraising and the delivery of impactful programs and services.
The Auxiliary operates independently from both The Ottawa Hospital, which delivers clinical care, and The Ottawa Hospital Foundation, which focuses on large-scale fundraising.
The Auxiliary generates funding that is reinvested into patient care. These funds support hospital equipment, education, research, and a range of Auxiliary-run patient programs and services while larger equipment contributions are made in coordination with The Ottawa Hospital Foundation.

Many of the Auxiliary's programs support patients facing vulnerable or crisis situations, including those without stable housing, appropriate clothing, or support networks. Through these programs, the Auxiliary provides essential items such as clothing, toiletries, newborn care packages, and access to basic medical equipment, helping to address practical needs that fall outside the hospital's clinical role.
